Connecting to the RZA Teamspeak Server (ts35.gameservers.com:8775)
This page will show you how to connect to our public teamspeak server. Our new teamspeak
address is ts35.gameservers.com:8775.
Connecting as an anonymous (unregistered) user
-
Download the appropriate client version of Teamspeak here: http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=downloads
If you are running Windows, you'll probably want the "Teamspeak 2 Client" here
- Once downloaded, install the executable by double clicking on it and following the instructions.
- IMPORTANT: The Team-RZA Teamspeak server has been passworded for the time being. Ask one of the clan members for the password before proceeding. You will need it to connect to our server
- After it is installed, start up the program and select "Connection" ~> "Connect".
- In the window that comes up, right click on the word "Servers" and select "Add Server"
- Enter the following information (Server Address: ts35.gameservers.com:8775):
![[anonymous]](anonymous.gif)
- The "Label" can be whatever you want. The nickname can be whatever you want but try to use
the name you use while playing Unreal Tournament. It makes it easier to tell who should be there
and who shouldn't. Enter the password into the "Server Password" field (copy and paste is easiest). Make sure "Anonymous" is selected and click the "Connect" button.
- You should now be logged into the server and can use it as a normal unregistered member (you will see a "U" to the right of your name once you log in).

Push-To-Talk vs. Voice Activation
There are two methods of using Teamspeak. One is to use "Push-to-talk" where you need to press a key
on your keyboard when you want to say something. The other is "Voice activation" which does not require a key press.
Please be courteous and use the "Push-to-talk" option rather than the "Voice activation" option.
This setting can be found in the "Settings" ~> "Sound Input/Output Settings" menu item. It is the preferred method of
operation because it reduces problems with echo and background/game noise.
If you DO decide to use Voice Activation, please make sure the mic sensitivity is adjusted correctly
and use a headset or turn your game sound down low so we don't hear echoes or your game sound.
This can be very annoying to other users and sometimes makes it hard to understand what people are saying.
If you are using voice activation and cannot get it configured correctly,
you will be temporarily banished to another room ("i need to fix my mic :(") until you sort it out.
Also, note in the image above that you can "Activate local test mode" before joining a server. That way, you can test your mic sensitivity and voice action level before joining any teamspeak server. Set the "Test Codec" to "Speex 25.9" and then click the "Activate local test mode" button to get an idea of what you'll sound like to others on our server. After you speak, it should echo what you say. Adjust the "Voice activation level" and "Output Volume" as necessary.
Please feel free to contact a clan member if you need help setting up your Teamspeak client.
